... a colour addict. An addiction that touches on all aspects of my life.
I took up Commerce and Accounting in High School, and soon realized I loved dabbling with design and colours more than playing with numbers, although I was quite good at it. Thus began the journey of becoming an Interior Designer at Sophia Polytechnic to be concluded at L.S. Raheja School of Architecture. By the age of 21, I had launched a successful business in Interior Design in Mumbai, India.
After that no matter what vehicle my design skills boarded, they all headed straight down the exhilarating highway of colours. An eight-year stint as an Interior Designer triggered a desire to see what lies beyond the Arabian Sea, and the quest to learn more brought me to The United States. A new journey full of incredible experiences began — the starting point was Northern Virginia Community College where I received a Double Associate in Communication Design — on to the prestigious Ringling College of Art & Design in Sarasota, Florida to get a Bachelor's in Fine Arts — and a few years ago a Masters from Pratt Institute in New York City. And no, this certainly isn’t the end of my educational pursuit in the ever-evolving world of design.
My passion for design and the aspiration to touch lives, make a positive difference and leave behind a powerful imprint with my talent is what has always driven me and continues to do so still. The curiosity to learn, explore and get accustomed to new and varied cultures gives me the spring in my step.
When I’m not playing with colours or designs, the next best place to find me is swaying to the beats of Indian, Spanish or Arabic music, or meditating or deep in conversations over coffee and whiskey with friends.
Design, music, art, conversations, love and smiles are all that make me, ME!
